The Essence of Life

For this project, I wanted to go through a theme with the whole life and death idea but changed it to where I brought in a more personal source from my subject's point of view. Each photo either shows the absence of life which shows the emptiness of the road but the presence of the colorful leaves on the ground. One shows the subject in its purest form and the other shows this at peace pose as she gazes at the photo of her grandfather from afar. The life in these photos acts as a filler in some way bringing the absence of death to the foreground without it being too confrontational.
